FOSTER BEST PLAYING ENVIRONMENTS BY SUPPORTING COACHES

All soccer participants should have access to safe, fun, dynamic, and inclusive environments designed to help them learn, grow, and fall in love with the sport. Our Coaching Education Department is helping support this mission by:

  • The Coaching License Pathway which consists of a series of courses designed to meet the specific needs of a coach at every step of the way. U.S. Soccer believes education is a journey, and our goal is to provide the necessary tools, guidance, and mentorship a coach requires.

  • Providing online and in-person courses designed to support all coaches, whether they are just getting into coaching or are a seasoned professional.

  • Educator License Pathway which supports the development and certification of instructors across the country. By growing and enhancing our pool of educators, we can further localize access to all levels of coaches.

  • Democratizing soccer knowledge by increasing access to information and generating high quality soccer knowledge that will be available to anyone in the soccer ecosystem.

 In addition to educating coaches from all backgrounds, U.S. Soccer is also committed to supporting women coaches through the Jill Ellis Scholarship Fund. In just a few short years, over 275 coaches have earned their license with the assistance of over $375,500 in direct scholarship funds provided by the generous support of U.S. Soccer Jill Ellis Scholarship Fund donors.

U.S. Soccer LEARNING CENTER

U.S. Soccer is committed to providing all coaches, from beginner to advanced, with education tailored to their experiences and the needs of their players. The Learning Center provides coaches with the education necessary to empower players and foster best playing environments.

U.S. SOCCER JILL ELLIS SCHOLARSHIP FUND

In 2019, U.S. Soccer launched the Jill Ellis Scholarship Fund to empower and advance female coaches, together with the SheChampions Mentorship Program to provide hands-on support to women navigating everyday challenges in the coaching industry.
